Retrofit and extension of a non-traditional post-war timber flat pack house. Aptly named as Swedish Houses they were manufactured in Sweden and built across England in the late 40s. Our goals for the project were to improve the energy efficiency of the house with the upgrade of the existing fabric and construction of a new airtight timber extension. To ensure the house was pleasant to live in a breathable construction approach was adopted using wood-fibre insulation and lime based render products.
